WANTED

Ugh, I hate Beyonce...
I am in a desperate search for a new pair of sunglasses, considering I break a pair every week and I'm only left with two. These oversized Wayfarers look large enough to cover my massive cheeks, which is a good thing. If only I could find them for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, I'll probably be stuck heading down to Kensington Market for a 5 dollar pair. Oh well, the sunglasses in Kensington are always so sexy anyways.

When I first laid eyes on you, I felt a flash of déjà vu.

Since it's a lovely day outside and I'm feeling a tad bit nostalgic, I've decided to create a post dedicated to my first loves. Counting UPwards from 1-5, here they are:

1) Danny Zuko-Grease
This man was truly my first love. That hair, those eyes, that jacket, come on! According to family legend, I've watched this movie over twenty-five times. Now, I have no recollection of this, but it can't be a coincidence that I magically know every line in this movie.

2) Wade "Cry Baby Walker-Cry Baby
Oh, who didn't love this magical being growing up? I remember I would always watch this movie when it was on Muchmore music, which was alot. As I said before, Mr. Depp only gets better with age. This is part of the reason he has come in 2nd place.

3) Romeo Montague- Romeo + JulietOh Leo Leo Leo. I'm always a sucker for the romantic boys. Leonardo Dicaprio played the role of Romeo beautifully. He's the perfect image of the blond, blue-eyed fellow, which I adore. Plus, I love what Baz Luhrmann did with this version of the adaptation.

4) Trip Fontaine-The Virgin Suicides
First off, I love this movie and Sofia Coppola. Even though Josh Hartnett is in like, 2/5ths of the entire movie, he captures the audience in every scene he is in. Every time I hear Magic Man, I think of this boy.

5) Alex DeLarge-A Clockwork OrangeI was so afraid of this movie as a child. Every time my parents would watch it, they would force me to watch it also. It wasn't till I was older that I realized how good the movie actually was, and also how sexy that Brit Malcolm MacDowell is.

Stay Tuned for Part 2! :D

Movie Time.

I first read The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffeneger about 2 years ago and fell in love with it. The novel centers around Henry DeTamble, a librarian who has a genetic disorder that causes him to involuntary time travel, and his wife, Claire Abshire, whom he meets throughout different times in her life as he travels. The novel is a bittersweet mix of sadness and romance that grabs you from the first chapter.
The novel has been made into a movie starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams.
I hope that they don't change too much of the book for the movie.
From the trailer, it looks pretty good, except that the book was alot more dark, and not as "chick flick" as they're making it out to be...
Plus, Eric Bana is so sexy and rugged.

Bring tea for the tillerman, Steak for the son.

Extras, in my opinion, was one of the most hilarious shows that graced our television screens. It had great writing, acting, and cameo appearances. Every episode featured an established actor who would perform and act out a parody of themself. Unfortunately, like most great shows, Extras was canceled in it's prime second season. However, I have the entire series on DVD, so I can re-watch my favorite episodes over and over again.
These are two of my favorite scenes throughout the series:

Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais are geniuses.

Diversity at its best.

I forgot to mention that I attended the annual Pride Parade a few weeks ago with some friends.
I've missed it two years in a row, so there was no way I was missing this one.
Here are the highlights:

Emmys.

The Emmy Nominations were released today.
Once again, 30 Rock was nominated in almost every category, the usual drama series were nominated, etc.
I literally squealed in my chair when I read that Flight of the Conchords was nominated for Best Comedy Series and Jermaine Clement was nominated for Lead Actor. That's how excited I was.
I've been following this show almost since the beginning.
I don't have enough time to create an entire post dedicated to the show right now, but it'll be posted soon. :D
The eerily attractive Jermaine Clement.

I wanna do bad things with you.

Has anyone else jumped on the True Blood bandwagon yet?
I know I have.
Me and my friend Teresa accomplished watching the whole first season in two days.
The second season is just getting better and better.
I also purchased the first book in the series, which was published in 2001, FOUR YEARS BEFORE TWILIGHT CAME OUT. Take that, Stephanie Meyer!
The series was developed by Alan Ball, the genius behind Six Feet Under, one of my favorite shows ever created.
Although I have a slight distaste for Anna Paquin, I feel that no other actress can play the role of the telepathic Sookie.
Stephen Moyer plays a sexy and brooding vampire. Edward Cullen, eat your heart out. His real-life relationship with Anna Paquin certainly does help with their steamy scenes, which there are alot of. Nelsan Ellis plays the wonderfully delicious Lafayette Reynolds. He steals almost every scene that he's in.
I didn't like Sam Trammel, who plays Sam, at first. But after seeing his character develop over the season, I've come to like him. I love that salt-and-pepper hair also.
I don't quite much care for Rutina Wesley. She was slightly likable as Tara in the first season, but in this season, she is a tad bit boring. Plus, she's oblivious...
Oh me oh my. I have loved Ryan Kwanten ever since he was on Summerland with Lori Loughlin. He is perfect as Jason Stackhouse in this series. Not to mention, tremendously sexy.
This man just exudes sexy. His hair looks much better this season, and he has much more screen time, which is lovely.Jessica is starting to become one of my favorite characters this season. She started off a tad bit annoying, but you couldn't blame her. I'm so happy for her and her newfound relationship with Hoyt.
This is one of my favorite moments from season two, hands down:
I love this show. I very much recommend it to any of you.
